Designed for ENT and cranial neurosurgery

As a surgeon specialised in ENT or cranial neurosurgery you might be familiar with the difficulties of finding a comfortable working position for certain surgical procedures.

Your upper body must follow the movements of the microscope as you search for the right angles to reach the surgical area. This might lead to unhealthy working positions, back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders.

This is why we have developed ArcView - an optical add-on system for RoboticScope®.

What if...

  • you could visually access complex anatomical structures like inner ear, brain, or skull base, while maintaining an upright ergonomic posture during the surgical procedure?

  • you would not have to follow the microscope with your body positioning?

  • you would not have to move your hands off the OR field when adjusting the visualisation system?

An optical add-on system for more viewing angles

ArcView is our solution especially designed for surgeons performing procedures via trans canal, retro-sigmoid or mastoid approach as well as in cranial neurosurgery. It gives you the freedom to work in an ergonomic position, even when reaching low angles and deep cavities. It simply helps you to see beyond.

ArcView is an optical redirection system which enables visualisation in procedures within difficult to access areas. It consists of a software interface module combined with an optical redirection system. In just a few steps ArcView can be attached to the robot camera head. One selection on the user interface and ArcView is ready to use.

Technical data:

  • Redirection angle:
ArcView redirects the light rays and 3D image of the operational field by 45°

  • Working distance:
220mm with absolute magnification of 4.4x-20.5x

370mm with absolute magnification of 3.2x-11.3x

  • Lowest viewing angle:
approx. 10° horizontal to the OR table

The main point is regarding the exposure - which for me is very important, specifically for transcanal because there are many hidden areas for which it is sometimes difficult to have clear exposure with the microscope. You have to move the microscope and then have to stay in this position for some time which is not very ergonomic.“
