BHS Technologes revolutionises the world of microsurgery

The founders of BHS Technologies; Gregor Burger, Markus Hütter and Michael Santek were interviewed about the journey from rough idea of a product to the development and implementation of a real serial product.

"This idea relatively quickly turned into a prototype and then a serial product," Markus Hütter, Chief Executive Officer, says in the interview. At this point the RoboticScope® was born: A full digital 3D visualisation system for microsurgery. It allows the surgeon to work in an ergonomic position and select all important functions hands-free via the Head-Mounted Display (HMD). As a result, the attention can be fully focused on the operation.

Innovative software and intuitive user interface

One of the core components of the device is the innovative software, developed by founding member Gregor Burger, Chief Software Officer, and his team. The special thing about this technology is, that it enables hands-free adjustment of the visualisation system as well as an erconomic working position for the operating surgeon. All important functions can be selected with the lightest of head gestures through an intuitive user interface.

Positive & constructive feedback from the users drives BHS forward

"Our device is already used in many university hospitals and the feedback from the users is overwhelming," Michael Santek, Chief Technology Officers, points out. The company is driven by positive as well as constructive feedback from users. The input flows directly into further development.

The main disciplines, where the RoboticScope® is used, are in spine surgery, ENT, plastic surgery, and neurosurgery. Two of our early adopters and supporters Prof. Dr. Mario Kern (Dentist and Implantologist) and Dr. Norbert Mair (Neurosurgeon specialized in spine surgery) also gave interviews about their experiences

BHS received numerous awards even before the official product launch

The RoboticScope® has won numerous innovation awards even before the official market launch in March 2020. Our latest achievement was the German Innovation Award in May 2021, where we won in our own category (Medical Technologies).

This shows us, that the innovations that we develope definitely have the potential for revolutionising the way surgeons operate all over the world.
