"Robotics in Plastic Surgery"

51st Annual Meeting of DGPRÄC 2021

Last week, we attended the 51st Annual Meeting of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (DGPRÄC) in picturesque Potsdam, Germany.

This year's theme was "Plastic Surgery - Passion, Precision and Flexibility" and included topics like lipedema/lymphedema, facelift and complications in aesthetic surgery and some interesting insights into virtual reality.

Among the speakers was Dr. Maximilian Kückelhaus, who (together with Prof. Dr. Tobias Hirsch and Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dr. Jan Dirk Raguse) was part of the team which performed the world's first plastic surgery with RoboticScope® at University Clinic Hornheide in May 2020. Dr. Kückelhaus shared some great personal insights into the application with RoboticScope® during his presentation about "Robotics in Plastic Surgery".

The BHS Team, on site with two RoboticScopes, introduced our technology to many interested congress participants over a couple of very busy days at the conference. We are grateful for the interesting conversations and fantastic feedback we received.

We would like to thank the team of the DGPRÄC, especially this year’s congress president Dr. Mojtaba Ghods, as well as boeld communication GmbH  for organizing a great event.

We are already looking forward to the next congress we will be attending, the 42nd Annual Meeting of the German Working Community for Microsurgery of Peripheral Nerves and Vessels (DAM). You will be able to meet us at the DAM in Graz, Austria from 11. to 13. November.
